Duane - Thank you for your friendship
Sometimes we just don't know how short life can be. When we were young we felt like we were going to to live forever or some such thing. How could we really know?
To my dear friend who we did share such enthusiasm in pastimes simply known as "hanging out" and "doing stuff",and inevitably spared ourselves from the isolated nothingness in these gears that power the cycles of our lives.
We did things like smoke big spliff (in fact most activities involved smoking of spliffs) and go to the arcade for a few hours, not sure if home computers were on the market yet. I remember that warm summer day walking down to Magic Land. I remember almost retching from your incredible bad breath from smoking those non filter Camels when you at the pinball machine.
I remember dropping acid with you (which was only once but it was insane what we did) , we went to Red River Ex fair near closing time. Not sure exactly the reason but were going into the fair when everyone was leaving. Tripping on acid trying to make our way through this huge crowd coming at us. One of the most fear and loathing moments I ever experienced. I dont remeber much more about that time, but indeed one of the most funniest times I have had with you.
Or job hunting together, showing up to this job site that Chris Mansky referred us to. Summer renovations in a parkade breaking up concrete with the jackhammers. The hiring boss took a look at us and said 'we cant have you' or something to that effect. We got rejected from work together. I still have a picture of Chris with his hard hat on just after he came back from work from that job. I'll find it and post it here.
Our friendship lasted over decades and you were a core friend over that period. The memories of our time together can bring such a smile to my face as if they were yesterday.

On those mellow and very warm Sunday afternoons, we sit idle and when we listened, to Sowiesoso. Like yesterday, yes?
